8 Films 2 days

I am proud to be a part of the Harry Potter generation, my attatchment to it began when my Dad started reading the books to us when we were little. I think it was the 4th one when I started reading them alone on the day they came out. I remember going to a Harry Potter party for the release of the 6th book at a small bookshop that has now closed down. I remember playing the Harry Potter computer games and being really bad at them. I remember walking into Tesco at about midnight with my Mum on the day the 7th book came out and the huge crate of books at the entrance that I picked my copy up from. I remember waking up to find the book had fallen off my bed and become dinted as I had falled asleep while reading it. I remember queueing to see the films on the day they came out or at previews at the cinema. I remember Stephen Fry reading them to us on long car journeys and losing tapes so the same ones would get played. I remember going to see the 6th with a group of Friends and laughing most of the way through it. I remember when 7 part 1 came out I went to see it at a small cinema with my Older Sister dressed up. I remember while watching 7 part 1 how the whole room felt like it was on the same wavelength. I remember after christmas re-reading all seven books in seven days so as to avoid thoughts of where I might have been.
Harry Potter has been part of my life for so long and before now there has always been another something else at first it was another book then after they ended there was the films. Best Friend decided that before the last film came out we had to watch the other 7. As we only got back from Ireland 48hrs before the midnight showing there wasd limited time to do this. My Little Sister and Mother had been watching them at the cinema (they did a week long catch up a film a day). The day after we got back from Ireland she came round and we started at 1 managing to watch 1 and most of 2 before leaving for Prom that evening (we got ready while watching) we woke up at 10 and got straight back to it. At about 9:30/10ish we finished and set off for the cinema to sit in line so we would get good seats.
On the way we thought we would be almost the first ones there not expecting anyone else to arrive two hours early to a midnight showing, we underestimated our town for prehaps one of the first times. During the wait some of the people at the front burst into The Mystereous Ticking Noise which was glorious to behold. Although not the first there we got our seats (we have special seats at the cinema) and the audience was the best I have ever sat with at the cinema I think, there was applause and cheers for the lights going down, gasps in the right places, audible weeping in the sad bits (even Best Friend after betting with many that she wouldn't wept for quite a bit of it), screaming when Hermione and Ron finally kissed and applause at the end. You could tell the film had been enjoyed by all who went.
It is the end of an era, one well enjoyed and sent off with a bang. Harry Potter will always hold a place in my heart and the past few days will be added to the other memories and I will definitely be watching 7.2 again.
